School of Advanced Studies - ISUFI

The School of Advanced Studies ISUFI (Istituto Superiore Universitario di Formazione Interdisciplinare) is a high-level training Center with interdisciplinary, international and collegial characteristics of the University of Salento. Founded in 1999, it was institutionalized in 2005 by the Ministry of Education, University and Research. It is part of the national system of university high schools, and is the only high school in peninsular Italy to be located south of Rome.

The School operates according to the model of the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. It selects young Italian and foreign talents exclusively on the basis of merit and offers them excellent training to complement and complete ordinary university courses. The significant costs of this training, characterized by residency and internationality, are borne entirely by the Italian state.

ISUFI COLLEGE

Students admitted to the School follow the training path provided for the degree and master's degree, obtaining by 31 December a number of CFU equal to 3/4 of the credits provided for in the respective plans of study for each course year and maintain an average of at least 27/30. At the same time they must participate in specific higher education training activities organized for them by the School, including two language courses, interviews, seminars and series of conferences of a disciplinary and interdisciplinary nature. They must also complete at least one semester of study abroad.

At the beginning of the academic year each student of the ISUFI Ordinary Courses receives a room furnished with relative magnetic card which must then be delivered with the relative furnishings at the end of the same year. The student has all the common areas of the College, such as kitchens, study rooms, reading rooms, gym, library and laundry available.
